Seguimos con nuestras combinaciones de piezas para nuestros sarracenos personalizados. No queremos aburrir, solo los presentamos como posibles alternativas. La combinación del tono antracita con el dorado nos parece muy interesante y son de las figuras que más nos han gustado por el momento. No deja de sorprendernos la cantidad y variedad de piezas que sigue teniendo Playmobil para hacer figuras, tanto antiguas como modernas. No tiene fin. 

Esperamos que os gusten, a nosotros nos parece una combinación ganadora.

We continue introducing to you our customized Saracen warriors. We do not want to bore you, we only try to show them as possible alternative options. Combining the anthracite tone with the golden one seems very interesting to us and they are our favorite figures nowadays. We are surprised the amount and variety of pieces in the Playmobil catalog, both old and modern. It does not have an end. We hope you like them, we think that they are a winning combination.

Aquí viene otra nueva tanda de guerreros. Ahora vamos con un poco de infantería y arqueros en tonos blancos. Todavía en fase de revisión. Esperamos que os gusten.

PLAYMOBIL CUSTOM – SARACENS (V)

Un experimento con las cabezas de los neandertales, piezas de los piratas y un rey mago.  A nosotros nos gusta, les da un aire rudo a estos dos personajes, que encajarán bien tanto entre nuestras tropas árabes como de civiles.

Seguimos con más experimentos. En este caso, algunas variaciones con la figura del rey mago negro de la referencia 4886 de Playmobil. Algunas piezas de los egipcios para darles un aspecto diferente y heterogéneo dentro de un mismo patrón. ¿Qué os parecen?

A new experiment with the head of the Neanderthal figure and some pieces of pirates and Christmas series. We love it, the head gives a fierce air to these two muslim figures, they will fit well both as Saracen troops or civilians.

We continue with more experiments. In this case, some variations with one of  the Three Wise Kings of the reference 4886. We use also some pieces of the Egyptians to get a different and heterogeneous look using a same pattern. What do you think?

Aquí estamos con una nueva entrega de guerreros Sarracenos Playmobil personalizados. Ahora cambiamos el registro al negro. En esta ocasión una combinación con dorados de nuevo y con turbantes.  

Este color oscuro bien podría valer para una partida de guerreros almorávides. Aún hemos hecho alguno más en estos tonos que también os presentaremos. ¿Os gustan?

Here we are with a new delivery of Custom Playmobil Saracens warriors. Now we change the main color to black. This time a combination with golden again and with turbans. This dark color might well be worth for a gang of Almoravid warriors. We have done some more in these tones that we will also present. Do you like them?

Tomando como referencia la caja 4691, ahora le toca el turno a las piezas plateadas. Con algunas piezas escogidas de los dragones chinos, los romanos, los piratas y los egipcios salen estas figuras. Otro estilo, pero también estamos contentos con los resultados. ¿Os gustan?

We take the ref. 4691 as an inspiration. Now it is the turn of the silver pieces. With some chosen pieces of the Chinese dragons, the Romans, the pirates and the Egyptians we created these figures. Another style, but we are also happy with the results. Do you like them?

PLAYMOBIL CUSTOM - SARACENS (I)

Empezamos con esta entrada una nueva serie de figuras en nuestra colección. La idea surge de la necesidad de ampliar un poco el espectro de nuestras aventuras, pero queríamos que pudieran ser compatibles con las figuras que ya tenemos y tanto nos gustan. En el año 1000, el Mundo era pequeño, todo pasaba por Europa y el Mediterráneo. Todo lo que se salía de allí era exótico y desconocido.

Los equilibrios de poder estaban muy concentrados y se estaba fraguando el orden que regirá buena parte de la Edad Media. Sorprendentemente, al documentarnos sobre los normandos, nos encontramos que habían sido algo más que los descendientes vikingos que habían conseguido dominar Inglaterra y parte de Francia. Resulta que nuestros amigos habían conseguido prosperar satisfactoriamente y las zonas que habitaban gozaban de cierta superpoblación que fue, en parte, la causa de sus muchas aventuras. No solo acabaron conquistando Inglaterra, se les quedo la cosa pequeña.

Como consecuencia de las peregrinaciones a Jerusalén previas a la primera Cruzada, muchos de ellos tuvieron la oportunidad de conocer parte de ese mundo alrededor del Mar Mediterráneo. Pronto fueron identificados como magníficos guerreros, disciplinados y bien entrenados, a los que se les ofrecían paga o tierras a cambio de sus servicios militares, muchos jóvenes normandos vieron una oportunidad para prosperar. Os recomendamos un libro que os resultará interesante para conocer toda esta historia. “Los Normandos en Sicilia” de John Julius Norwich. Lo podéis consultar gratis en muchas librerías municipales. Ahí aparece el Reino Normando de Sicilia. Todo esto nos descolocó un poco. Resulta que nuestros amigos se habían paseado, mandoble en mano, por casi toda la costa mediterránea y en algunos lugares de ella, se podía hablar de “cultura normanda” y de “herencia cultural normanda”, dejando numerosos vestigios de su presencia hasta en el Oriente Medio donde llegaron a  fundar el efímero Reino Normando de Antioquía.

Todos estos territorios, como bien sabemos los habitantes de la Península Ibérica, se tuvieron que disputar a golpe de espada o compartir en feliz coexistencia durante cientos de años con las diferentes invasiones musulmanas que llegaron a Europa y al norte de África desde el año 700. Aquí estamos los herederos de toda aquella mezcla que tuvo la oportunidad de pasar o quedarse.

Total que para montar alguna aventura decente, nuestros Normandos necesitaban un poco de “attrezzo” sarraceno, bien para pelearse, bien para hacer una visita de cortesía por todos aquellos lugares conquistados por los árabes.

Y ahí comienza nuestro proyecto. Lo primero que hicimos fue intentar documentarnos un poco más y hacer recopilación de las piezas que tenemos por ahí muertas de risa. Es curioso, como piezas que no te interesaban nada hace dos días pasan automáticamente a ser absolutamente necesarias para poder continuar con el proyecto. Esa es la parte que más me gusta.

Aquí tenéis nuestras primeras tres figuras, ahora ya superan la treintena. Las iremos presentando en pequeños grupos según el tipo de piezas que hemos utilizado, así creo que se disfrutarán más. Posteriormente, y cuando nos sea posible, intentaremos algún diorama. Os prevengo, son un vicio. Lo bueno es que ya estamos pensando enfrentarlas también con nuestros vikingos, pero eso será otra historia y otra entrada. Esperamos que os gusten.

Now we start with this post a new series. The idea arises from the need to expand the spectrum of our adventures, but we wanted also to compatible them with our figures. We were in 1000 a.c., the World was small, everything went around Europe and the Mediterranean. The rest of the World was exotic and unknown.

The balance of power was very concentrated and it was the time to being forged the order that will govern during of the Middle Ages. Surprisingly, reading about the Normans, we found that they had been more than the Viking descendants who had succeeded in dominating England and a big part of France. Our friends had managed to prosper satisfactorily and the areas they inhabited enjoyed a certain overpopulation that was, in a big part, the cause of their further adventures. Not only they conquered England.

As a result of the pilgrimages to Jerusalem prior to the first Crusade, many of them had the opportunity to know part of that world around the Mediterranean Sea. Soon they were identified as magnificent warriors, disciplined and well trained soldiers, who were offered lands in exchange for their military services, many young Normans saw an opportunity to thrive. We recommend a book that you will find interesting to know this whole story. "The Normans in Sicily" by John Julius Norwich. You can check it for free in many municipal libraries. There the Norman Kingdom of Sicily appears. Amazing! It turns out that our friends had wandered, sword in hand, almost all the Mediterranean coast and in some places of her, one could speak of "Norman culture" and of "Norman cultural inheritance", leaving numerous vestiges of its presence through the Middle East where they came to found the Norman Kingdom of Antioch.

All these territories, as we well know the inhabitants of the Iberian Peninsula, had to fight with the sword or share in happy coexistence for hundreds of years with the different Muslim invasions that arrived in Europe and North Africa since 700 a.c. Here we are the heirs of all that meltin pot that had the opportunity to pass or stay.

So, to can mount some decent adventure, our Normans needed a bit of Saracen "attrezzo", either to fight, or to make a courtesy visit by all those places conquered by the Arabs.

And here begins our project. The first thing we did was to try to read about it a little bit more and then to start to compile the pieces that we have in stock. It's funny, the pieces that you did not interest two days ago, automatically become absolutely necessary to continue with the project. That's the part I love the most.

Here you have our first three Saracen figures, now they are over thirty warriors. We will present them in small groups according to the type of pieces that we have used, so I think they will be enjoyed more. Later, and when possible, we will try some diorama. I warn you, they are a vice. The good thing is that we are already thinking to face them also with our Vikings, but that will be another story and another post. We hope you like them.
