Aquí uno viene uno de nuestros últimos dioramas vikingos. Siempre hemos pensado que la casa vikinga (Playmobil 3151) es una gran referencia. La verdad es que la serie de vikingos es una de nuestras preferidas. No es una contradicción pensar que siendo una excelente serie, siempre hemos creído que podría haberse mejorado, con muy poco más. El Sistema X de Playmobil es realmente bueno, pero en nuestra opinión carece de la versatilidad del sistema Steck y no por su forma de unir sus elementos, sino por la falta de correspondencia entre unas piezas y otras. La primera idea de ampliar una casa vikinga fue utilizando las piezas de los antiguos fuertes de vaqueros de Playmobil como Bravo (3773) o Fort Randall (3400). El resultado fue muy bueno, incluso permitía la posibilidad de hacer empalizadas semicirculares. Después de eso y tras habernos regalado algunas partes de un castillo 3269 empezamos a investigar la posibilidad de añadir algunas piezas para crear una fortaleza vikinga personalizada de mayor tamaño.
Las piezas que más se asemejaban a la construcción vikinga era la del fuerte Eagle (Playmobil 3023). Estuvimos mirando y remirando en PLAYMODB las posibles conexiones y pensamos que encajarían. Nuestra sorpresa fue máxima cuando vimos la poca compatibilidad de las piezas vikingas con las del fuerte vaquero. Bueno, también hay que decir que nos resultó muy agradable comprobar que se ajustaban bastante bien como una empalizada rodeando la casa o utilizando nuestra base del 3269.
El problema principal era la puerta. Playmobil no había previsto ninguna pieza de remate o unión triple para este tipo de fuerte, que no vendrían nada mal. Así que tuvimos que empezar a probar algún tipo de puerta que le diese un aspecto vikingo.
En primer lugar probamos con la puerta original. Hemos hecho muchas pruebas y la que al final nos ha parecido más digna es esta que os presentamos. Las columnas de madera están hechas con las esquinas de fuerte unidas y hemos fabricado con varias piezas de granja y otras que nos hemos ido encontrando en el mercadillo un marco para sujetar toda la estructura. Con algún adorno extra nos parece que queda muy bien.
La otra opción también esta incorporada en el diorama y se trata de utilizar una pieza del Playmobil 4435. La fortaleza bárbara nos encanta, pero tiene el problema de no poder unirse fácilmente a otras construcciones con el mismo sistema. Aquí con varios accesorios queda bastante bien, pero le falta un detalle importante: la puerta. No tiene sentido construir algo para defenderse sin puerta. Sólo lo puede perdonar que ha sido diseñada para jugar y no para defender. Aún así nos gusta el resultado añadiendo la torre vikinga y un pequeño soportal aprovechando las piezas del fuerte.
La construcción de la casa está sobre la base de una referencia 3151, luego hemos ido añadiendo piezas que nos hemos ido encontrando y que al final nos permiten crear un pequeño gran campamento. La casa está diseñada y construida por mi hijo mayor.
En el próximo meteremos también alguna pieza del fuerte viejo. Si caben…
VIKING HOUSES (IV)
Here comes one of our latest Viking diorama. We always thought thar the Viking longhouse (Playmobil 3151) is a great reference. The truth is that the Viking serie is one of our favorites. It isn´t a contradiction to think that being a great serie, that it could have been improved, with very little else. Playmobil System-X is really good, but in our opinion lacks the versatility of the Steck-system because there is no way to unite its elements by the lack of correspondence between some pieces and others.
Our first idea was to extend a Viking house using parts of the old Playmobil fort Bravo (3773) or Fort Randall
The pieces to start the construction were from Fort Eagle
The main problem was the door. Playmobil didn´t made no end piece or triple bond for the western fort. So we had to start testing some kind of door to give him an aspect Viking.
First we tried with the original door. We have done many tests and in the end we felt that the most worthy is this that we present. The wooden columns are made with fort corners together and we have used several pieces of farm and others that we have encountered in the fleamarket (during this year) to create a frame to hold the entire structure. With some additional embellishment we think looks great.
The other option is also incorporated into the diorama. We try to use a piece of Playmobil 4435. We love the barbarian stronghold, but it has the problem of not being able to easily join other structures with the same system. Here with various accessories is pretty good, but it lacks an important detail: the door. It makes no sense to build something to defend without door. Only I can forgive that is it was designed to play and not to defend. Yet we like the result adding a Viking tower and some small arcade parts of the western fort.
The construction of the house is based on a reference 3151, then we have been adding pieces that we have encountered and to create a great little camp. The house is designed and built by my oldest son.
In the next post we will put also some of the old fort parts. I will hope they fit in ...
